6 Nights at Ngorongoro (Ndutu) and Serengeti
Ndutu is a part of Ngorongoro Conservation area located in between Ngorongoro Conservation area and Serengeti National Park rich in grassland and woodland, very popular for the northern Circuit safari. At Ndutu ecosystem is where wildebeest come to have their calves. Newborns feed on nutrient-rich volcanic soils, meaning they develop at up to twice the speed of wildebeest elsewhere in Africa. Thomson’s gazelle also like the place for raising their young. That means this tiny corner of Tanzania is populated by over a million grazers, many of them highly vulnerable to predators. Best to pay a visit December to March. Serengeti National Park is a World Heritage Site teeming with wildlife: over 2 million ungulates, 4000 lions, 1000 leopard, 550 cheetahs and some 500 bird species inhabit an area close to 15,000 square kilometers in size.
3 Nights at Lake Eyasi and Natron
At lake Eyasi, Hadzabe bushmen live in the region around Lake Eyasi. Hence on your trip early in the morning, the bushmen graciously will show you around and how they live plus hunting, the Datoga and Mbulu tribes are here also. Datoga will also show you their culture and how to make iron traditionally. Lake Natron considered deadliest lake due to high alkalinity which may cause burn to skin and eyes to animals who are not adapted to it. At lake Natron expect flamingo watching with special tough skin and scales on their legs prevent burns further more expect hiking to mount Ol Doinyo Lengai which is the only active volcano known to emit natrocarbonatites, a rare type of volcanic rock that is rich in sodium, potassium, and calcium carbonate, but low in silica.
